Chief Executive Officer

Grant joined New Guinea Energy in mid 2011 after a 22 year career with BP where he filled senior roles in Exploration and Production, Trading, Refining, Marketing, and BP’s corporate head office including 12 years international experience in Belgium, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He has a first class honours in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, an MBA from the University of Western Australia, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Dan Kendrick
General Manager Technical and Operations

Mr Kendrick holds a PhD (Geology) and is a structural geologist with over 15 years experience in basins and thrust belts worldwide. He has extensive experience in oil and gas exploration and geological modelling in both Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya, the areas of particular interest to the company.

Francis Waina
Exploration Manager

Mr Waina holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology from the University of PNG and a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Queensland. After graduation in 1993 he joined Santos Limited and held positions of geologist and project geologist in PNG until 2003 before relocation to Australia to become technical specialist and development geologist until he joined NGE in 2006. His experience ranges from well site geology operations, geological field mapping surveys, planning and coordinating exploration and drilling activities, licence administration, health and safety in field operations, petrophysical analyses and evaluations, prospects and leads generation and reserves evaluations. Francis is based in PNG.

John-Paul McDonald
Project Manager

Mr McDonald holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance from the University of NSW. Prior to joining New Guinea Energy, John-Paul had 8 years experience working for a number of trading companies in PNG including Collins and Leahy in the Highlands and Islands regions and Steamships Trading in Port Moresby. His roles were operational, primarily managing company assets, employees, logistics and budgets. John- Paul joined the company in 2007.
