PPL269
PPL269 occupies an area in Western Province that straddles both foreland and foldbelt structural terrains. The areas to the south of the foldbelt vary in elevation from 600 metres in the Tarim area to less than 50 metres in the south. A large part of the licence area comprises gentle and heavily wooded terrain. The deep meandering Fly River is navigable as far north as Kiunga Port. Kiunga is the focus of the only all-weather road to the Ok Tedi Mine but over the last 10 years significant unsealed logging tracks have been developed providing vehicle access during the drier periods.
