Thelasis is a well-defined, fault bounded anticlinal structure 22 km southeast of Tarim. It owes its structural relief to displacement on two reverse faults; one the major southwest dipping foreland backthrust east of Tarim and southwest of P’nyang, and the other a subsidiary north dipping reverse fault. Greater than 120m of closure exists at both Toro and Alene/Elevala reservoir levels with the sands expected to be similar to those encountered in Tarim-1 and/or P’nyang. Strong northerly, southeast, and northwest dips are present.
