 Simon Korua was born in Papua New Guinea and studied accounting and business management at Port Moresby Business College. He has been the Managing Director of his private business, the Bowmans Group, since 1979. In 1987, Simon won the PNG Businessman of the Year Award and is currently on the board of six companies based in PNG, including Bowmans Glass, Monpi Coffee, Chemica Chemicals, Boroma Piggery, Pacific Capital and Barclay Brothers. He was a director of Air Niugini, the national airline of PNG, Bank South Pacific, PNG’s largest commercial bank, and a founding director of The National, one of the two PNG daily newspapers. Simon brings to the Company knowledge and experience in doing business in PNG as well as a network of relationships in government and commerce. |
